Shetland Society Lecture - NZ / Shetland links today

Sunday 1 August 2021
02:00 PM - 04:30 PM

In preparation for our 2022 Centenary, Otago University History graduate Sam Moncur has interviewed a range of Society and other people about their links with Shetland.  How do people maintain their links in the 21st century?  Now that few people in our Society are actually born in Shetland, are the links of family and history still strong?  What are the ways people maintain those links?  Sam's interviews are being made fully available to the Society, for use as part of our Centenary activities.    As always at our events, our extensive library is available to browse, and to borrow books/ DVDs/ magazines.  And there will be a good Shetland afternoon tea.
